Bihar has 40 Lok Sabha constituencies - Gaya, Nawada, Jamui, Kishanganj,Katihar, Purnia,Bhagalpur, Banka, Jhanjharpur, Supaul, Araria, Madhepura, Khagaria, Darbhanga, Ujiarpur, Samastipur, Begusarai, Munger, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Saran, Hajipur, Valmiki Nagar, Paschim Champaran, Purvi Champaran, Sheohar, Vaishali, Gopalganj, Siwan, Maharajganj, Nalanda, Patna Sahib, Pataliputra, Arrah, Buxar, Sasaram,Karakat and Jahanabad.
Because the state has so many constituencies, the 2024 Indian general election in Bihar will be held in all 7 phases from 19 April to 1 June to elect 40 members of the 18th Lok Sabha, with the results declared on 4 June.
Bihar, along with Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal, will be the only states where the 2024 Indian general election will be held in all 7 phases.
In 2019, general elections NDA won 39 seats out of 40 in Bihar.
One seat was in won in Kishanganj, which is traditionally held by Congress candidate Mohd. Javed Ashraf.
Here the JDU candidate was defeated. JDU won the remaining 16 seats.
All 17 and six candidates of BJP and LJP have won the elections.
In the results declared, Grand Alliance constituents RJD, RLSP, HAM and VIP were defeated.
