Survivors of deadly shootings at LGTBQ nightclubs in Colorado Springs and Orlando were also among the guests. President Biden highlighted the alarming environment created by attacks and bills targeting transgender youth, banning gender or sexuality discussions in schools, and restricting drag performances, emphasizing the need for action to safeguard LGBTQ+ individuals.
