Bhukha is an Indian sambalpuri language Film based on the lives of a group of tribe called called Bajnias or Ganda tribe of Odisha (who were earlier specialised drummers) The story brings out the negligence and dominance by the upper class people over these tribal people . Everyone's voice was supressed. No mercy,no respect to the tribal people .The story also accounts the hardships and strain got by thses people in bygone. Starring National awardee Sadhu Meher and Sarat Pujari .This film was directed by the intelectual director of Odisha : Sabyasachi Mohapatra .This 1982 film put a flashlight on the other districts of Odisha ,,even in the state of Jharkhand where tribes were supported by the Govt. Helped many social activist( myself being a part of an NGO) to help and aid the Banda's, Santali, Bajnias to help. Moreover this is the first Odia film to get an International Jury award . The struggle ,the extrapolation done by Mohapatra in this film is highly tremendous .Gained handsome knowledge watching this film
