According to recent reports from COPE, Real Madrid's captain, Nacho is set to leave the club this summer as he has decided not to renew his contract. Owing to this, Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen have reportedly shown interest in signing the Spaniard for the upcoming season to strengthen their defensive lineup.
Despite being linked to teams in the Saudi Pro League and MLS, Nacho might consider staying in Europe if offered an exciting project. Leverkusen, currently on a remarkable 46-game unbeaten streak, view Nacho as a viable option to bolster their defense. This news comes shortly after Leverkusen were also linked with Rafa Marin, currently on loan with Alaves from Real Madrid.
Nacho has made a total of 37 appearances in all competitions this season, starting quite a few games in the absence of David Alaba and Eder Militao. The Spaniard is reportedly seeking a starting role at his next club, hence it has to be seen if he will prefer moving to Leverkusen, if offered a backup role in Germany.
