In a spectacle of devotion, a massive crowd converged at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya as the grand temple welcomed devotees after the 'pran pratishtha' ceremony of Ram Lalla. Since 3 am, eager worshippers gathered to witness the consecration of the new idol and partake in the first morning prayers.
The 'pran pratishtha' ceremony, conducted amid jubilant celebrations, saw Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the main rituals alongside a select group of priests. Locals and visitors from various states thronged the temple gateway, adorned for the consecration, seeking entry to the hallowed premises.
Police informed the growing crowd that the temple would open to the public on Tuesday, prompting devotees to anticipate 'darshan' of Lord Ram Lalla. Specific time slots for prayers are provided on the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra website, including morning slots from 7 am to 11:30 am and afternoon slots from 2 pm to 7 pm.
'Aarti' timings, featuring jagran/shringar at 6:30 am and sandhya aarti at 7:30 pm, can be attended with passes obtained offline or online. The offline passes, requiring a valid government ID, are available at the camp office at Shri Ram Janmbhoomi.
The 'pran pratishtha' ceremony, held at 12:29 pm on Monday, marked the culmination of a seven-day ritual. Attendees included people from diverse backgrounds, representatives of tribal communities, and leaders from various spiritual and religious sects.
The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir, built in the traditional Nagara style, stands 161 feet above the ground, showcasing intricate sculptures of Hindu deities on its 392 pillars and 44 doors. In the sanctum sanctorum, Lord Ram is enthroned in a child-like form.
Expressing joy, a devotee from Chandigarh stated, "Ayodhya has decked up like a bride. We are touched even more to come to terms with the fact that we are going to have 'darshan' of the Ram Lalla." Another devotee, who traveled 1224 kilometers from Odisha, shared his eagerness to witness the long-awaited temple.
In the midst of intense cold weather, devotees were spotted taking a dip in the Saryu River, adding to the spiritual fervor surrounding this historic occasion.
