Did you know that nearly half of the world’s current population, including you and me, spends a whopping average of 2 hours and 24 minutes per day across 8 social networks and messaging apps?
Well, this definitely points out to the fact that we’re all slowly becoming social media addicts. From the urge to check our Whatsapp every now and then, to aimlessly checking others’ stories on Facebook, from always being on the lookout for an “Insta-worthy” aesthetic picture/location/pose, to worrying about maintaining our Snapchat streak, from spending more time on Twitter than in sunlight, to spending more time working on our LinkedIn profile than doing actual work, social media has become inescapable.
If you found the aforementioned relatable then you would definitely relate to the feeling of “regret” one gets for not using their day productively because of excessive social media usage. Yes, I am talking about the guilt trip we all go on, just before sleeping at night, thinking about all the hours we wasted online.
It’s time for a change. It’s time for an intervention. Read on to find out super easy and do-able ways to effectively limit your use of social media, along with becoming more efficient with your time, in order to make for a better lifestyle all together.
Think about why, when, where, which and for how long do you use social media, simultaneously considering your mental or emotional health and your productivity graph that is at play as a result of it.
After taking the first and foremost step i.e. to observe, identify and most importantly, admit the problem, you have already won half the battle.
