An analysis of India's 36 most popular protein powders revealed that nearly 70% had inaccurate protein information, with some brands offering only half of what they claimed.
Moreover, around 14% of samples contained harmful fungal aflatoxins, while 8% showed traces of pesticide residue.
The findings of the study were published in the peer-reviewed journal Medicine last week.
