Ainu language is a language spoken and used by the people of Ainu community. They have been living in places such as Hokkaido in Japan for a long time.

This language has few and rare relationships with the Japanese language and other languages around the world.

The National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics together with researchers, who have been studying Ainu language has published an Ainu language handbook. With the help of this book, people will come to know more about the Ainu language.

The book contains explanations of Ainu grammar, history and stories handed down by the Ainu community from long ago in English.

The book is about 700 pages long and took seven years to complete.
