London-based Arsenal will sport an all white kit in their FA Cup tie vs Nottingham Forest as a part of ‘No More Red’ initiative launched alongside adidas to support the long-standing work being done by Arsenal in the Community to keep young people safe from knife crime.
London has recorded its worst-ever annual death toll from teenage homicides, with a total of 30 teenagers killed in 2021, most of them being victims of knife crime. To put this into context, 10,000 knife crime offences have been recorded in London between June 2020 – June 2021.
‘No More Red’ initiative couldn’t come at a better time. Arsenal & adidas will work towards providing more safe, positive spaces for young people and spotlighting talented individuals who are making a positive difference.
Club legend Ian Wright said, ‘We can never accept loss of life through youth violence as ‘normal’ in our city and it’s so important that we all work together to create a better environment for young people.’
Arsenal confirmed that the kit will never be commercially available and will only ever be awarded to individuals who are making a positive difference in the community.
Fans took to Twitter to voice their opinion about the brilliant campaign, calling it strong message to spread awareness and what better way to do so than via football.
