It is definitely true, mono diet is the most unhealthy form of diet.
The mono diet involves eating just one food item or group for several days or weeks. Even nutrient-rich foods may lack specific vitamins or minerals, making it challenging to ensure you get all the nutrients your body needs.
It can also increase your risk of nutritional deficiencies, especially if you’re following the diet for prolonged periods.
For example, if you’re only eating bananas, getting enough protein, healthy fats, iron, calcium, and vitamins A and B12 in your diet may be challenging.
Similarly, meat, fish, and poultry lack essential nutrients like vitamin C, fibre, and antioxidants. A deficiency in these nutrients can lead to impaired immune function, anaemia, digestive conditions, bone loss, and chronic disease.
A single type of food or food item cannot provide all nutrients. Each type of food has different nutritional values. Your body needs various nutrients, and compromising on them might result in severe health issues.
