Preface continues...
Moreover, the higher he rises in authority the less does an Indian feel accountable for his actions. These character flaws have come to be acquired from two centuries of deprivation but are incompatible with a people desiring to be a great nation; and they can be rectified by developing a strong and coherent concept of national identity whose defining characteristics can be culled from a correct perception of our history and our religious traditions embodied in Sanatana Dharma.
This is an enormous but glorious task, that calls for ushering in a renaissance in the national outlook and mindset. The Centre for National Renaissance, therefore, seeks ties with other like-minded institutions, think tanks, and international conservative foundations to benefit from their experience and thus be enabled to perform this momentous task.
This book is therefore, written to inform the dimensions of possible research for future scholars and those of the Centre. Although the views expressed herein are the author’s, nevertheless the broad ideological framework in the chapters of the book are the raison d’etre of the Centre.
In writing this book I was admirably assisted in the research and editing of the manuscript by my wife Dr. Roxna S. Swamy, who is however not responsible for the remaining errors.
