The Second Fundamental:

Enlightened Secularism and Common Heritage continues...
If Muslims truthfully accepted their Hindu ancestry, then certain problems that have recently caused great tension between Hindus and Muslims can be quickly resolved. It will also prevent the rise of the ‘Politics of Cultural despair’ which according to Prof. Fritz Stern led to Nazism in Germany. The Ram Janmabhoomi controversy would, for example, never have erupted. That for centuries, Hindus have patiently put up with what a lieutenant of Babar did to that holy spot does not mean that they do not have any depth of feelings about it (the evidence that Mir Baqi destroyed an existing temple to build the Babri Masjid is there with the Archaeological Survey of India since 1976 and reaffirmed in 2003 by a Commission set up on the direction of the Allahabad High Court). In fact, between 1193 A.D. (when Md. Ghori ransacked Ajmer) and 1729 A.D. when Quli Khan razed a temple to the ground in Tripura, about 80 major temples had been destroyed (as the maps below show), and thousands of smaller temples had been desecrated. In fact, there is a great stirring of Hindu consciousness today because of the utter disregard of Muslim fundamentalists for that feeling.
