Youngster wins man of the match on England debut

Manchester City youngster Rico Lewis was the man of the match on his first ever England game, as Gareth Southgate's side played out a disappointing 1-1 draw against North Macedonia.

Lewis, 19, played at left-back and provided a mature, reassured outing despite it being a first outing for him in the national team colours.

The Manchester City academy has a big admirer already in Pep Guardiola, who has said that the player could become among the best PL players. Southgate also said, “We thought Rico throughout the whole game was excellent,” the England manager added. “Great composure, great resilience."
