In Parliamentary By-elections held on 30 October 2021 in Khandwa constituency of Madhya Pradesh, Gyaneshwar Patil of BJP won by creating a huge margin of 82,140 votes.
In the legislative Assembly elections held on 4 constituencies, 2 seats were won by INC and 2 seats were won by BJP.
The next Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly election is planned to be held in or before November 2023 to elect all 230 members of the state's Legislative Assembly.
Panchayat body elections had been announced in Madya Pradesh on December 4.
However, the Supreme Court cancelled elections for seats reserved for the OBC (other backward classes) communities, authorizing authorities to renotify these as general seats and only then hold elections.
