INEOS Chief and prospective Manchester United owner Jim Ratcliffe has said that he will not pay a 'stupid price' for the club. Ratcliffe and his representatives held talks with the club on Friday in meetings which included visits to Old Trafford and the AON Training Complex.
The 70-year-old spoke to the Wall Street Journal about his bid. “How do you decide the price of a painting? How do you decide the price of a house? It’s not related to how much it cost to build or how much it cost to paint. What you don’t want to do is pay stupid prices for things because then you regret it subsequently.”
Jim Ratcliffe already owns Nice in Ligue 1 and his interest in buying United is purely in 'winning things' with a club he has described a 'community asset'.
