The Lakhimpur Kheri massacre has created a chaotic situation, leaving the country dismayed.
The violence broke out when a vehicle ran over the group of protestors standing in front of the motorcade of a Union minister on Sunday, 3rd October.
The farmers were gathered to protest against the visit of Union minister Mr Ajay Mishra and deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya. The outcry began because of the statement of Mr Ajay Mishra, which led to enraging the farmers. BJP claimed that the massacre was just an accident, but after a day of the incident, a video of this ghastly scene came out in which a person is seen to be running his car over the group of protestors. It is said that the person who was driving the vehicle inhumanely killed the protestors.
The video was first posted on Twitter by Tehseen Poonawalla. He says, " Some of the farmers sent the video to me, and once it got verified, I posted it."
Poonawalla posted a video that shows how callously a car ran over a group of protestors which took some precious lives.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other leaders, appalled by the episode, retweeted the video, demanding the proper investigation and justice for the victims, and it got viral.
Many opinions and statements were given by opposition parties, demanding justice for farmers.
Poonawalla also says that " the victims should get justice, and the investigation should be done by a high court or a supreme court but by a sitting judge and not a retired one."
He further adds, " In no democracy, a minister can threaten farmers and go away with it, but it's happening in India; we must think whether it's still a democratic country."
