Two such machines (Rota Pro and IVUS Intravascular Ultrasound) have arrived in the Cardiology Department. Through this, not only will we get information about the minute blockages in the arteries, but by eliminating these blockages, the patient's life can be saved. Professor SN Shankhwar, Director, IMS BHU, inaugurated the machine in the Cath Lab located on the fifth floor of the Super Specialty Block. For this, the efforts of the entire team including Professor Omshankar, Chairman of the Cardiology Department, were appreciated. On an average, 20 to 25 patients undergo angiography and angioplasty every day in the BHU Cardiology Department, out of which there are three to four such patients in whom correct information about blockage in the arteries is not available. Due to this, sometimes patients had to be referred to other institutes including Delhi, Mumbai for bypass surgery, but with the arrival of these machines, complete detailed information about blockage of arteries will be available. Through the equipment installed in it, ultrasound can be done inside the arteries and the blocked path can be detected. This will open the clogged arteries. Director Professor SN Shankhwar says that after this new facility added to the Cardiology Department, now the patient will start getting all the facilities under one roof.
