The bee hummingbird, zunzuncito or Helena hummingbird is a species of hummingbird, native to the island of Cuba in the Caribbean. Small enough to comfortably sit on the tip of your pinky finger.
They are nectar-eating birds, and because of the way their beaks are made, they can even ingest nectar from tubular flowers, which gives them more energy for their daily metabolism. Only hummingbirds have the ability to fly backward, so this one does too. It may maintain flight by repeatedly or continuously flapping its wings, sucking nectar from flowers to produce a humming sound.
