With the continuation of protests against the Islamic Republic, Trudeau is the highest official of a foreign country who has practically joined the Iranian protesters. Previously, a number of politicians, artists and sportsmen around the world had declared their support for the national uprising of Iranians.
Hamed Esmailiyon is the spokesperson of the Association of Families of the Victims of the Ukrainian Plane. He lives in Canada and is considered one of the key figures of the protesters against the Islamic Republic. During the past month, several large demonstrations have been held outside Iran calling for Mr. Esmailion.
The Prime Minister of Canada had met with a number of Iranians living in Winnipeg before attending the protest rally. Justin Trudeau posted pictures of the meeting and tweeted: "We seek justice for the victims of the Iranian regime." He said that his country supports the people of Iran.
