The Ministry of Finance says that they are fully prepared to pay the salaries of government employees and may spend their wages for two months at a time. A spokesman for the Ministry blamed technical problems as the only reason for the delay in paying government employees and said they were working on a solution based on which employees would be delivered consistently.
Ahmed Wali Haqmal, a spokesman for the Ministry of Finance, said: "The reason for the delay was the start of the salary scale because there was a lot of injustice in the previous salaries. "We have started work. Praise be to God; we have put together a plan and a system in which the rights of all employees are taken into account and based on justice."
On the other hand, some government employees say that not paying their salaries on time has caused them many economic challenges. For example, Abdul Rafiq Sadid, a teacher at a government school in Kabul, says he has not received his salary for four months and faces many economic challenges. "Our economic problems are such that I have been on duty for forty years; I have been a teacher for forty years," said teacher Abdul Rafiq Sadid. Now I am an apprentice in a shop. "He earns me a thousand afghanis a week, in which I can live on four thousand afghanis and make a living for my children."
At the same time, some economists say that the government can only provide an average budget and measures this budget according to its revenues. "I think we have no problems with the normal budget, and because our military spending has been completely reduced, education spending has been reduced, and another government spending is meager," said Seyed Massoud, an economics expert. And besides, we don't have development projects, and there are possibilities. "It would be better if development projects started again."
Nearly two weeks ago, the Ministry of Finance promised to pay the quarterly salaries of government employees, but this was not paid on time.
