When I was younger, 20s and 30s, I used to be harsh on high ranking black belts with no skill and even on 1st degree black belts that looked like white and yellow belts in skill. Why? Its because I was trained in the old ways and hate seeing what I learned become an ineffective joke.
As I approach my 50s. I just let the low skill, low understanding folks walk around with grand master titles and 10th or higher degree black belts. I will offer advice on their posts for improvement. Not to correct them but in hopes that other people will realize the grand master they are looking at is low skill and low knowledge so that they seek someone who has appropriate skill and understanding to be teaching.
And I believe I am not alone in this. The old ways are almost dead because most of us live in relative safety and the current generation wants the rewards of hard work without doing the hard work.
I will still make comments and posts about utter garbage in the hopes of educating. But I will reserve personal attacks for the bullies.
