In the most recent surprise to emerge from the James Webb Space Telescope, researchers have discovered one of the oldest and oldest galaxies ever seen.
As per Independent, images of the far reaches of the cosmos reveal a variety of faraway galaxies, some of which are farther away than we have ever seen. According to the experts, the item appeared only 290 million years after the Big Bang.
In a pre-print paper posted online, the researchers state that if that is the case, it may require us to reevaluate some of our existing beliefs regarding the origins of the universe and dark matter. If such an item originated at such a young age in the cosmos, it would imply that galaxies began to form earlier in the universe than we previously thought.
