The final round of a table tennis tournament in Kabul was held on Saturday.

The tournament was launched to select high-level players for the Kabul table tennis team.

Wahidullah Sadat won the final round for the adult-level class out of 40 contestants.

“We hope to gain the attention of the government, and we request that the rights and credits that have been promised us be provided so we can play and bring home achievements from foreign countries,” Saadat said.

Munib Sharafi won the final round of the teenager-class matches.

The head of the Physical Education and sports directorate said the government intended to remove all obstacles in physical Education and sports across the country.

“We will overcome the challenges in the sports area. I request all youth who live in the villages, districts, and provinces to pay attention to sports because sports are good for health,” said Nazar Mohammad Motmaeen, general director of physical education and sports.

“We have a five-year strategic plan. We want our players to be playing well in international games within five years. Our major attention is on the teenagers right now,” said Javid Sharfi, head of the table tennis federation.
