SM Entertainment and TV Chosun Team Up for New Trot Idol Group "T-5"
SM Entertainment has officially teamed up with TV Chosun to launch the “Trot Idol” project. On August 12, representatives from both companies held a signing ceremony for their joint production “T-5,” where they discussed the details of their collaboration. The partnership between SM, a leading K-pop company, and TV Chosun, known for sparking a nationwide interest in trot music, has generated significant excitement about their potential synergy.
The new trot idol group from SM Entertainment will consist of five members, including singers from “Mr. Trot,” global K-pop trainees, and actors. Renowned composer Cho Yeong Su, who is celebrated for his work on the “Miss Trot” and “Mr. Trot” series, will be producing the group, leading to high expectations for its success.
TV Chosun will air a program that follows the members’ journey to their debut, showcasing the challenges and growth they experience along the way. The show will be broadcast in both Korea and Japan, with a preview scheduled to air during the Chuseok holiday, promising to capture the attention of music fans.
