Harry Kane had to make a decision at the beginning of this season and he made it - a move away from Spurs while he is in the prime of his stellar football career. It has been a career filled only with stats and goals, whereas a complete opposite scene can be seen when it comes to his silverware record. He was highly touted to move to a Premier League rival only for the move to break down due to the demands from his current club and it was a controversial decision, going into the season and it was quite obvious Spurs did not want to lose head of their clan, not after him signing a big six year contract some three years back and as it was only going to come back and bite them as clubs will come for him the following year. This time, the situation could be seen as getting out of their hands.
The player is turning 30 soon, will and should definitely look to fill the barren trophy cabinet to go with his goal scoring record and in modern football where everything has become player heavy, Spurs have just made it easier for Kane to move on after making him wait for another year. It is a loss they might have seen coming and yet stayed firm.
For one of England's finest, someone who can be considered as a complete number 9, for what we have seen coming for a long while now, Harry Kane should call it a day and leave this chapter of North London behind him to create a new story and love affair with trophies to go with his stellar ability of scoring goals.
