Tottenham Spurs and Antonio Conte look increasingly likely to part ways in the summer. The club are already lining up potential replacements for the Italian with there even being uncertainty over whether Conte will be allowed to see the season out.
Mauricio Pochettino, the last gaffer than Spurs faithful remember fondly, is one of the leading candidates. Pochettino was let go by Paris Saint-Germain last summer after another season of disappointment in the Champions League. Pochettino, who led his Spurs side to a Champions League final in 2019, would be a beloved campaign after the dreary days of Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo, and now Antonio Conte. No subsequent coach has been able to deliver what Pochettino's five-year stint consistently did. It is also understood that the Argentinian currently lives in London and would have no logistical difficulties in accepting the job immediately. This gives the 50-year-old an edge should Antonio Conte be let go early in a bid to boost Spurs in the Top 4 Race.
