Question: What is long haul COVID, what are its common symptoms and who all are at risk ?

Long haul COVID or Post covid syndrome is defined as symptoms occurring 6 weeks after covid illness and consist of wide variety of symptoms.
Commonest is fatigue followed by insomnia, poor concentration, muscle and joint pains, headache. shortness of breath etc.
Patient with this syndrome will respond to diet changes, physiotherapy and exercise, simple medicines including those for anxiety and for sleep. After sometime intensity of these symptoms decrease.

Covid positive cases are declining across the world and with vaccination increasing , experts are hoping that there would be further decline in the cases . What however is a cause of concern is what has the year long pandemic done to our mental and physical health.
Recent studies have found that as many as 1 in 4 people who had COVID-19 end up with long-haul COVID-19. But research is still ongoing.
While most people with severe COVID-19 were adults, experts are also learning how long-haul COVID-19 affects children and teenagers.
Long-haul COVID-19 symptoms may appear weeks after the initial infection, even if the initial infection is mild or asymptomatic. The symptoms may also change over time.
