Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address comes a day after the cumulative COVID-19 vaccine doses crossed the landmark figure of 100 crores in India.

The Prime Minister had hailed it as history being scripted and, in an opinion piece in The Hindu on October 22, he described India's COVID-19 vaccination drive as a journey from "anxiety to assurance" that has made the country emerge stronger, and credited its success to people's trust in the vaccines despite "various efforts to create mistrust and panic".

He mentions that the 100-crore vaccination mark is the beginning of a glorious chapter for the country. The Prime Minister notes that the Government ensured that there is no VIP culture in the vaccination drive.

He lauds Indians for the fact that India faces minimal vaccine hesitancy when compared to even developed nations.

10:10 A.M: Prime Minister notes that India's CoWIN assisted common people and helped medical professionals in the country in the vaccination process. Mr. Modi says world will now see India as more safe from Covid, adds that India's acceptance as pharma hub will grow further.

He says India's vaccination programme is science-born, science-driven and science-based. He asserts that from the development of vaccines to inoculation, science and science-based approach has been involved in all processes.

Taking everyone along, the country started the campaign of 'Sabko Vaccine, Muft Vaccine', he notes.

PM Modi refers to doubts raised about India's COVID-19 vaccination programme, says 100 crore doses now answering every question. He adds that he is seeing optimism in the economy and society. This he mentions is because of rising vaccinations and says that festivals will boost it further.
