Officials from the passport department said that the passport issuance process is scheduled to begin in the next two weeks in several significant provinces.
Alam Gul Haqqani, head of the passport department, said that the process in the provinces was stopped due to technical problems. Once the issues are resolved, the distribution process will begin again.
According to Haqqani, the process will start in six significant provinces in the next two weeks.
โWe are trying to fill our staff needs and get machines, and in the next two weeks, passport centers will be opened in the provinces,โ Haqqani said.
He said that the passport distribution process is going well in Kabul, and over 50,000 passports have been distributed so far.
On the other hand, several passport applicants in Kabul complained about irregularities in the Kabul passport department and demanded the officials to end the problems.

โPeople spend nights here, but still their work is not being done. So we ask the head of the department to open passport centers in all provinces,โ said Khaksar, a resident of Nangarhar.
It has been a month that the passport distribution process has been operating in Kabul, but still, this process has not started in other provinces.
Statistics of the passport department show that over 5,000 passports are being issued every day in Kabul, and since the beginning of this process, more than 50,000 passports have been distributed.
