A foul-mouthed man who punched an 11-year-old girl in the face at a Manhattan park’s dog run was arrested Saturday, police said.
Nathaniel DiRenzo, 29, of Manhattan, attacked the girl Wednesday in Stuyvesant Square Park, along Second Ave. between E. 15th St. and E. 17th St. in the Gramercy Park neighborhood, said police.
The clash began after a group of rowdy children showed up to the park around noon during school recess and started throwing dirt and party snappers over a fence into the dog run, authorities said.
Angry dog owners confronted the kids when an adult supervisor was unable to get the spiraling situation under control.
Within seconds DiRenzo allegedly approached the kids and directed his rage toward the 11-year-old girl who was yelling at him.
“Grip her the f--- up before I put my hands on her,” DiRenzo allegedly snarled at the adult supervisor.
“You’re a f---ing embarrassment,” he said. “I can’t believe they pay you to do this.”
The girl then went inside the park and challenged the man identified by police as DiRenzo.
“You fat little bi--h. You’re not going to amount to anything in life,” DiRenzo spewed in a video posted to YouTube which is now private.
DiRenzo, 29, grabbed the girl’s hair, punched her in the face and put his hands around her neck, said police. The enraged man also exchanged blows with a 15-year-old boy defending the girl, video shows.
DiRenzo ran off and the 11-year-old girl was taken to Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital in stable condition. Her 15-year-old schoolmate was treated at the scene for minor injuries, officials said.
DiRenzo, sporting a gray business-style suit and glasses, ignored questions from reporters as he was led out of the 13th Precinct stationhouse after his Saturday arrest.
He is charged with strangulation, acting in a manner injurious to a child, assault and harassment, police said.
