Moore will sign a three-year contract that commits his future to Tottenham after being offered a salary that recognises his talent and the desire to keep him in north London. According to The Athletic, Spurs will give the winger a bigger salary than they have ever done for a player turning 17.
Moore's new deal, his first professional contract, will be finalised on Sunday when he turns 17. The England youth international made headlines at the end of last season when he became Spurs' youngest Premier League player in their 2-0 defeat to Manchester City on May 14, and he has been key part of Ange Postecoglou's plans in the pre-season. It's no surprise that both City and Manchester United were once considering moves for Moore.
“Mikey has been fantastic since we brought him in,” Postecoglou said after Spurs' friendly against Vissel Kobe. “He’s earned his spot on the roster at the moment, he did at the end of last year. He got a run with the first team because we could see in training that he was handling himself really well and that’s followed through into pre-season training.
“All we can do is keep allowing him to develop. We have to remember that last year he had some injuries and he is only 16, but yeah, super exciting.”
