Erling Haaland scored his sixth hat-trick of the season, Julian Alvarez added a brace, and Cole Palmer also scored as Manchester City thrashed Burnley for six goals to advance to the FA Cup semi-finals at the Etihad.
Haaland's rich vein of form continued as City saw off the challenge of Vincent Kompany's Championship leaders at the end of a week that saw the Norwegian claim a Premier League winner at Crystal Palace and then five against RB Leipzig in the Champions League.
Haaland scored twice in three minutes just after the half-hour mark to knock the visitors out.
He then completed a second treble in four days, 14 minutes into the second half, bringing his season total to an incredible 42 goals.
In front of a raucous Etihad crowd, Alvarez - who had just signed a contract extension earlier this week - then scored a brace with substitute Palmer also scored as Pep Guardiola's team advanced to the last four and a guaranteed date at Wembley next month.
The visiting manager was given a hero's welcome, complete with high-fives from City staff, a warm hug from Guardiola, and prolonged applause from everyone in the stadium. Then the serious stuff started. Kompany's greeting was followed by the old story of City establishing tempo and dominance.
Haaland snatched possession of the ball from a long clearance by Burnley's Ortega and passed it to Julian Alvarez. The Argentine then executed a precise pass through Burnley's defense to a charging Haaland, who struck the ball into an unguarded net with a first-time shot. Burnley's keeper, Bailey Peacock-Farrell, attempted to challenge Haaland but was unable to prevent the goal.
The atmosphere at the Etihad was electric as Julian Alvarez scored the third goal for Manchester City on 63 minutes. However, Alvarez wasn't finished yet, showing off his impressive speed and strength on 72 minutes as he effortlessly raced past Al-Dakhil before unleashing a sensational shot into the net, leaving the opposition goalkeeper with no chance to save it.
