Leicester City punished Aston Villa for a series of errors with a thrilling 4-2 victory, their first Premier League victory since November.
The ferocious end-to-end pace was set early on when Villa's Ollie Watkins fired home after Emiliano Buendia's shot smacked against the crossbar.
Villa took the lead twice in the first half, once through Ollie Watkins and once through a Harry Souttar own goal. The Foxes equalised both times, thanks to goals from James Maddison and Kelechi Iheanacho. Tetê scored his first goal just before halftime. With the only goal of the second half, substitute Dennis Praet put the icing on the cake.
Boubacar Kamara's error allowed James Maddison to equalise soon after, but Leicester's Deadline Day signing Harry Souttar deflected Watkins' cross home on his debut.
Despite having 63% possession and 18 shots, that would be Aston Villa's only goal of the game.
Kelechi Iheanacho headed home Leicester's second equaliser after scoring in the FA Cup against Walsall. Tete, another January signing, then unexpectedly fired the Foxes ahead with the final kick of the first half.
In the final seconds of injury time, the Foxes took the lead. Kamara was intercepted again, this time on the halfway line. Iheanacho received the ball and found Tetê's run with a perfect through ball. The Brazilian maintained his composure, rounded the keeper, and slotted the ball into an empty net. It was the ideal way to end an exhausting half of football.
Aston Villa dominated the second half with some brilliant attacking football, but another error allowed Leicester to score their fourth late on. Dennis Praet was able to finish ahead of Emi Martinez thanks to Alex Moreno's poor control.
Leicester moved into 13th place with 21 points, their first Premier League victory since before the World Cup break. They are now three points clear of the drop zone. Aston Villa remain 11th with 28 points.
The game simply petered out at this point, which was exactly what the Foxes wanted. The whistle blew, and the Foxes had all three points.
