Jai Vilas Palace is in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh (India). It was established by Jayajirao Scindia, the then Maharaja of Gwalior and grandfather of politician Jyotiraditya Scindia, in 1874.
The palace has 400 rooms out of which 40 have been converted into a museum.
The Darbar Hall has two central chandeliers weighing a couple of tonnes, and hung only after ten elephants had tested the strength of the roof.
