" It’s a breath of fresh air," Bruno Fernandes disagrees with Ronaldo's claim
Bruno Fernandes has disagreed with Cristiano Ronaldo's claim on the new Portugal manager. Roberto Martinez was appointed as the new Portugal boss, following their exit at the hands of Morocco at the FIFA World Cup. His term at the 2016 Euro Champions has started in an impressive manner, as Portugal claimed consecutive victories to kick off the qualifying campaign for the 2024 Euros.
Cristiano Ronaldo claimed that he considered retirement after Portugal's exit from the World Cup. However, a discussion with the incoming manager Roberto Martinez made him change his mind. He believes that the former Belgium manager has instilled a breath of fresh air into the team.
However, Manchester United vice captain Bruno Fernandes feels otherwise, and claimed that there has always been a good vibe in the team. The midfielder stated that there is a transition period in progress, and that the atmosphere has been good as usual in the dressing room.
"No, it's just a new coach with new ideas. There is no breath of fresh air at all. It's just a transition period. The atmosphere in the national team has always been good," said Bruno.
"There's never been anything that wasn't fresh of the air, so I think it's just new dynamics, new coach, and you have to assimilate his ideas," he added.
