India has taken a tough stand on the statement of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei on Indian Muslims. India's Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying that Iran should look into its own affairs before talking about anyone else.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that the countries which are making statements about India's minorities should look at their own record before speaking about others. He said, "We condemn the statement of Iran's Supreme Leader regarding India's minorities. These are ill-informed and unacceptable statements Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, while addressing a gathering of clerics in Tehran on Monday, expressed concern over the situation of Muslims in Gaza, Myanmar and India.
