Lovely story!

I have always been enthusiastic about sports. Ever since during my school days I was always hyped about playing cricket or participating in running competitions or javelin throw.
It all started in a small village named Nakapahuwa where I used to play "gully cricket" even if it included boys in the team. The situation was so, majority of the boys had the mindset of not letting me play in their team since I was a girl but I always wanted to break that notion and go forward. Gradually I participated in the Annual Sports held in my school and followed by district level sports.
During my 9th standard while going through the daily newspaper (since we did not really have access to television) that even girls could play cricket. In 2006, when I came to know that Assam has lost a match against Jharkhand and Assam was all out in just 55 runs, it was a surprise for me since I knew girls cricket team could do much better. This was one of the primary driving force behind my continuing my own cricket journey and starting off with the same even when my parents were against the same.
In a small district named Dhakuakhana, a cricket camp was initiated where I was selected as a bowler. Gradually I played in Lakhimpura district. Again, in 2006, I played district level in Bihar followed by in 2007 when all the top girls in the field of cricket were called up to play for state level and I was one of them and I played as an opening pace bowler.
Cricket has always been a dream rather than just a sports for me. If I'm ever asked what other sports I take interest in, I can't really pin point towards one other than cricket since this was my only choice. I knew since the very beginning of my childhood that I had to play cricket no matter what and take it forward in life as well.
