Long covid sounds really rough, take care
“My heart goes out to anyone infected with COVID, but especially this group of patients that are not getting better,” I read this quote from Dr. John Sinnott, Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of South Florida.
Reports suggest CDC is working to know more about the long haul Covid 19 and if the long term symptoms will eventually resolve or not.
Yes it’s not easy, nearly six weeks I am struggling with almost the same symptoms . It’s peak summer in Kashmir offered me ice cream and I said no. A sip of coke the other day kept me coughing all night. The spiced khada has been replaced by milder green tea.
My headaches come and go. Weakness is ever killing me. I can’t still lie on my back without feeling breathless . It’s unclear how long it will last .
I know some people had symptoms for weeks and even months after they test negative.
I don’t seem to have brain fog, or may be I do. I do write , right for write, bride for bribe etc. I haven’t also been able to get back to reading . I have three interesting books waiting for me including Tom Hank’s The uncommon type-wanted to know back stories of you got mail, da Vinci code, cast away, forest gump, The post and so many others. But I can’t read beyond a page without getting terrible headaches. The bad news is, Sinnott said there are some people who got infected with COVID-19 last year and still have long-term symptoms.
Experts say this version of the virus can happen to anyone who has been infected, even if they have no symptoms.
He says women, patients who had multiple symptoms of the virus early, and people with blood clotting issues seem to have a higher chance of getting long COVID.
The good news is some experts believe long-term COVID-19 patients got better after getting vaccinated.
But according to the law of land I need to wait six more weeks before I get the second jab. Will the symptoms last till than?
