That love hormone oxytocin, is also linked to the intensity of one’s orgasm was known to science only a few decades ago. Even gynaecology textbooks didn’t mention this.
Thankfully, many intrepid researchers today are venturing into an area few of their predecessors dared. So today we have a better understanding of female orgasm and female sexual difficulties more than at any time in history.
To know more about the research, I talked to Dr TS Sathyanarayana Rao, a renowned psychiatrist, sexual health specialist, editor of the journal Psychosexual Health and a co-founder, Vvox.
Dr TS Sathyanarayana Rao: All female sexual problems are inhibitory in nature be it sexual aversion, arousal related disorder or orgasm related disorder. The only way to address this is by training women how to masturbate.
Most women see only flaws when they look at their own naked bodies. Making a woman self-aware about her body is absolutely necessary for orgasm. This is also one of the focus areas of sex therapy.
With maximum stimulation, 100 percent of women can be taken to orgasm. Vibrators are very helpful in this. Only 30 percent of women can achieve orgasm with intercourse alone. Nearly 1 to 5 percent of women can achieve orgasm with fantasy alone.
