If visceral fat is more than optimal, it can adversely impact cardiometabolic health by increasing inflammation. The higher the amount of visceral fat, the greater the risk for many inflammatory diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and even skin disorders.
The existence of visceral fat is not always obvious, though having a big belly is a good indicator of its presence. usually, the bigger the girth (belly measurement), the higher the level of visceral fat. however, we also see otherwise slim people with large bellies, which is indicative of the presence of visceral fat. These are the ‘thin fat people’. such obesity is referred to as abdominal obesity, truncal obesity or apple-shaped obesity. General obesity is called pear-shaped obesity.
Combined effect of the Four Gs
The combined effect of the four Gs has the most profound impact on inflammation in the body, leading to a leaky gut. This further results in malnutrition or malabsorption of nutrients, propelling the body towards ill health. In order to begin the journey towards better health, one needs to understand how each one of the Gs works and how to break the cycle of connectivity that can cause disorder and chaos.
only then can you begin to heal the gut. and remember, a healthy gut means a healthy body!
