It's better to be safe than sorry!
After initially planning a lifting of restrictions for June 21, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced that restrictions will continue for another four weeks. A review will be made after two weeks to reassess the state of cases.
Cases have surged again in England as the COVID Delta variant spreads, but hospitalizations have remained low as vaccines continue to be administered. The restrictions will remain in place so that vaccines will be able to “outrun” the virus.
Despite most restrictions staying in place, some guidelines on weddings and wakes will change. Attendance at those events is no longer limited to thirty, but venues will still need to adhere to social distancing and capacity rules.
