Electronic Arts and developer Respawn Entertainment have now revealed a story trailer for their upcoming game Star Wars: Jedi Survivor. Set five years after the events of Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, the trailer is looking good so far and is showing some dark times for the Galaxy as Jedi Knight Cal Kestis has further gone to embrace his role as one of the last surviving Jedi Knights after their purge due to Order 66.
Like the previous game, there'll be new biomes to explore, skills to master, and deadly enemies to test them on, including a pair of lethal bounty hunters who Kestis runs into. The game is set to launch on April 28th and will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
"The dark times are closing in as Cal Kestis seeks out a safe haven far from the reach of the Empire. Five years after the events of Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, a more mature Cal Kestis must look beyond his lightsaber to find his destiny in the shadow of the Empire," says the official story description of Jedi: Survivor.
"Familiar friends and new allies – Cere Junda (Debra Wilson), Greez Dritus (Daniel Roebuck), Merrin (Tina Ivlev), and the newly introduced mercenary Bode Akuna (Noshir Dalal) – stand by Cal's side against the Empire and galaxy's most ruthless foes. Cal's quest will take him to new planets and familiar frontiers in the Star Wars galaxy, including Koboh, which is the home of the Bedlam Raiders."
The trailer is nicely rounded and well balanced as we get to see a bunch of interesting new settings, enemies, and glimpses of lightsaber combat in the total mix. Survivor adds some new Force abilities and ways to use your lightsaber, which should make combat even more fun than it was in the first game, while further fusing it with some Zelda type puzzles making for a very interesting and exciting sequel.
