French National team's captain Hugo Lloris is on the verge of becoming a free agent in the month of June 2022 as talks over a new contract are yet to move in the right direction.
Football London's Spurs correspondent Alasdair Gold believes that there is a willingness from all parties to extend the goalkeeper's stay at the White Hart Lane with Antonio Conte being particularly keen on keeping the French World Cup and UEFA Nations League winner.
As per Gold's information, Spurs Director of Football Fabio Paratici and Conte had a meeting as part of the upcoming January transfer window a few weeks back. The Italian manager wanted more time to assess the available options before recruiting the right players.
In the start of December, Charlie Eccleshare from the Athletic UK had revealed that Lloris has got a desire to play for his hometown based club, OGC Nice before retiring but he did state that the Frenchman could extend his stay at the North London club for one more year. He has the opportunity to talk with foreign clubs in the winter window before deciding his future.
Meanwhile, the latest information from FootMercato's Santi Aouna reveals that OGC Nice wishes to bring Hugo Lloris in the summer and have made him their No.1 target. This could pave way for Tottenham to look for strong reinforcements as a replacement to the Frenchman.
Today, Manchester Evening News Chief Manchester United correspondent Samuel Luckhurst dropped a bombshell stating that Tottenham are monitoring the situation of Dean Henderson, United's second choice keeper as the England international is frustrated with the lack of opportunities at Old Trafford. There is also a talk at the club that Rangnick and Henderson could end up at loggerheads after the German manager refused to let the goalkeeper leave next month.
Tottenham will look to capitalize on this opportunity as Henderson has got a high ceiling to succeed as England's No.1 keeper if he gets regular minutes.
