The Seattle Sounders will play in the Club World Cup for the first time in the history of the team, and when they take on Al Ahly in round two action on Saturday at Tangier's Ibn Batouta Stadium, they could advance as far as the semifinals.

The third-place finishers from this year's competition defeated Auckland City 3-0 on Wednesday to go into the second round. Seattle became the first club from Major League Soccer to win the CONCACAF Champions League (CCL) under its present name last season, defeating Pumas UNAM in the final.
