The Brazil versus Germany football match not only is one of the best football matches of all time , but definitely it is one of the most unforgettable football matches of all time . The match took place on 8 July 2014 at the Estádio Mineirão in Belo Horizonte, being the first of two semi-final matches of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.Brazil and Germany both went undefeated in the tournament to reach the semi-finals.
The Brazilians lost striker Neymar to injury and defender and captain Thiago Silva to his second yellow card of the
tournament during their quarter-final match against Colombia. Brazil suffered a surprise defeat in this
match. The German national team led 5–0 at halftime after scoring four goals in the first six minutes of the second half, bringing the score to 7–0 in the second half.
Brazil scored the game's sole goal in the final minute to win 7–1. Toni Kroos, Germany's playmaker, was named man of the match. Several tournament records were broken in this encounter.
One of them is that Germany's victory was by far the largest in a FIFA World Cup semi-final.
The other record is that it was Brazil's worst ever margin of defeat in a match, with a 6–0 loss to Uruguay in 1920,
for the national team.
The contest was eventually dubbed a national humiliation and disgrace.
