When we talk about Sexual health awareness, body image plays a vital role in that. It's a pivotal topic of discussion and an issue almost each and every human faces irrespective of their gender.
All bodies are unique, they come in different shapes, sizes and types, and being confident in one's body is an important part of sexual wellness.
But the majority of the people are not comfortable with their bodies, because of the stereotypes created by the society, thus developing mental health issues, body image issues and confusions.
One further hampers their physical and mental health which leads to hormonal changes in the body, along with developing unhealthy habits or lifestyles, like feeling of worthlessness, eating disorders and getting into drug abuse, or harming oneself.
Acceptance is necessary, however bodies are, healing from negative body image is a windy path, but one you with the right support and tools can overcome their body image issues.
Thus, it can be extremely rewarding to work toward a place of body neutrality, and even towards body positivity.
Experiencing healthy sexual encounters can oftentimes contribute to finding freedom from negative body image. Many find that their sexual health improves when they focus on simple wellness choices, such as getting more active, getting quality rest, making healthier eating choices and pursuing positive and affirming relationships with others. And of course—it’s always good to remind yourself of things your body can do outside of how it looks.
Lets normalise every body, and acknowledge everyone struggling with body image issues. Somehow in this fight of normalcy of body image, men's body positivity tends to lag behind, therefore, it's necessary to have conversations about how men have been struggling and the pressure created by the society to look manly.
Men have emotions too, they also deal with insecurities, body image and mental health issues. 'Handsome isn't a Size', neither beauty has any standard.
Don't let size and shape hamper your mental health, choose yourself,
choose YOU,
THE REAL YOU!
