Arsenal Women's Team has made an exciting announcement, revealing that they have signed striker Jodie Taylor for the remainder of the 2022 season. This marks her second stint with the team, after previously scoring 10 goals in 17 appearances for Arsenal between 2016 and 2017.
Jodie's arrival follows the expiration of her contract with San Diego Wave in the National Women's Super League in the United States. She brings with her an impressive career history, having played for clubs in Europe, America, and Australia.
In addition to her club achievements, Jodie has an impressive international record, having scored 19 goals in 51 appearances for England. She was also the top scorer at the 2017 UEFA European Women's Championship and won the UEFA Women's Champions League with Lyon in 2020.
Expressing her joy at returning to the club, Jodie said, "It feels amazing to be back - like I never left. It's incredible to have this opportunity to come back to the club that I love so much. A lot of progress has happened here in the last five years since I was last here, and to see how much the club has grown and progressed is incredible."
Head Coach Jonas Eidevall praised Jodie's abilities, commenting, "We're thrilled to have Jodie with us for the rest of the season. She has a proven track record of scoring goals, and we know her experience will be a great asset to the entire team."
Head of Women's Football Clare Wheatley also expressed her excitement about Jodie's return to the team.
The signing of Jodie Taylor is still subject to regulatory processes, but the Arsenal Women's Team is already looking forward to her contributions in their efforts to succeed this season.
