Brazil will be looking to show the world that they are the same dominant side in world football that they once were. Having won five World Cups already in their history, there is not a single team with as much prestige as Brazil. They are also the only club to have qualified for every single World Cup tournament ever since the competition was established, showing their dominance in it. However, their recent World Cup campaigns have been far from great. They have been knocked out of the competition rather early on in the last four campaigns including losses to France in 2006, the Netherlands in 2010, Germany in 2014 and Belgium in 2018. The current Brazilian side consists of many superstar players and will fancy their chances in the World Cup and here are three reasons why they could win the World Cup.
The first reason why Brazil could win the World Cup is because of their attack. Brazil have one of the greatest attacks in the world at their disposal and many of their attackers have found their form at the perfect time, just before the World Cup. The first player that will come to everyone’s mind is none other than Neymar Jr. The Brazilian forward has had an illustrious career at club level but hasn’t had as much success on a larger scale representing his country. There is no doubt he will be hungry to help his team lift the golden trophy. Other attackers include Gabriel Jesus and Richarlison. Both strikers made moves to North London clubs this summer from Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur respectively. Ever since they made their moves to North London clubs, they have discovered new elements to their game that have impacted their clubs massively. Gabriel Jesus has made himself Arsenal’s first choice striker being a massive upgrade from Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang whereas Richarlison has proven to be a trusted hand for Spurs manager Antonio Conte. These are just a few of Brazil’s lethal options in attack.
